TASER Cartridge Separate TASER ECDs from the Competition.
With ranges from 15 to 35 feet (4.5 to 10.6 meters), and accuracy that can't be matched, they are the choice for law enforcement everywhere.
TASER Cartridges for law enforcement products come in two varieties: Standard and Smart™ Cartridges. Standard cartridges are compatible with our X26 and M26 devices, while Smart Cartridges are compatible with our X2 and X3 devices
TASER Standard Cartridges
Unique variations for warm and cold climates, training scenarios, and tactical situations are available. The XP cartridge, ideal for colder climates, has a longer probe to penetrate thicker clothing. The 35' XP cartridge has been used with success in tactical situations where the extra distance is needed. Additionally, the TASER 21' Training cartridge uses non-conductive wires that prohibit simulation role players from feeling the effects of TASER electronic control devices (ECDs) (to be used in conjunction with the TASER Sim Suit).
All TASER cartridges below are compatible with the M26 and X26 ECDs and include a patented Anti-Felon Identification System (AFID), so that each cartridge use can be traced.
TASER cartridges utilize compressed nitrogen to propel two darts to the target. This proprietary design leads to increased accuracy and consistency in field use.
TASER cartridges are designed for use with both the ADVANCED TASER M26 and the TASER X26 systems. These TASER cartridges have a range of 15 to 35 feet (4.5 - 10.6 meters).
TASER Smart Cartridges
The new Smart Cartridge communicates with the Fire Control System within the X3 ECD, indicating the type of cartridge loaded in each bay and its deployment status. The Smart Cartridge contains the nitrogen propulsion system, probes, TASER® wire, and Anti-Felon Identification (AFID) tags sealed behind a rugged, weatherproof blast door. The new static resistant propulsion system allows the X3 ECD to display NMI arcs without firing the cartridge – which also reduces the risk of accidental static discharge misfires.
TASER Smart Cartridges are designed for use with both the X2 and the X3 systems. These TASER cartridges have a range of 15 to 35 feet (4.5 - 10.6 meters).

Features
Anti-Felon Identification (AFID)
A system to deter misuse through enhanced accountability, AFID includes bar-coded serialization of each cartridge and disperses confetti-like ID tags upon activation.
Nitrogen Propulsion System
The design of both the TASER C2 cartridges and the TASER cartridges incorporate a nitrogen capsule propulsion system that ensures consistency and accuracy.
